While my travels initially began with acts of service, my first "vacation" trip planning didn't begin as a thought until late 2017. A friend of mine, Allison, had just moved back home and we got together over dinner to catch up. As we conversed over our meal, I mentioned wanting to go on a trip. The location didn't matter. We jokingly mentioned a cruise, not knowing that it would soon become a reality. Shortly after, at our friend Elizabeth's Christmas party, we mentioned the idea to our friends, who all agreed it sounded like a wonderful idea. Soon thereafter the research and planning began!
In the spring, Courtney was to graduate from college, and Allison was to have a birthday and it seemed like the perfect time to cruise. We found a great deal on a 3 night Bahamas cruise from Carnival that was to leave out of Port Canaveral, Florida. The dates were Thursday May 10th- Sunday May 13th, 2018. Between the four of us going, it was decidedly better for us to drive. For the entire trip down to Port and back gas would only be about $50 for each of us vs the $150+ it would cost to fly. Plus, we could extend our trip and see more on the way to and from the cruise. We knew there was going to have to to be stops between NW Ohio and NE Florida, so we planned some fun along the way. On the way down to Port, we stopped in Nashville, Tennessee as well as Atlanta, Georgia before heading to our port near Orlando,Florida.
